With Easter coming so soon, everyone is trying to create new traditions or keep old ones intact. Being quarantined during a holiday is not ideal, so here are some ways to help make the best of your Easter Sunday.
Although we cannot travel to visit family this Easter holiday, we can take full advantage of technology! Send out a virtual invite for Easter brunch or dinner. Zoom, Skype and FaceTime are great platforms and ways to connect with multiple family members at once.
If you were unable to buy Easter egg dying kits before quarantine, or they are sold out online no worries! You can keep the tradition alive with these, everyday grocery staples.
Just like always, you will first want to boil your desired amount of eggs. For the coloring, in a small saucepan boil 2-3 cups of water with the ingredient color of your choosing. While it is boiling add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar. Once it is done boiling let simmer until the color is to your liking. From there drain into a bowl and soak boiled egg in desired color for 30 minutes.
Whether you are making new traditions this year or continuing the same ones. Here are some hacks you can use if you are running low on essential ingredients.
If you don’t feel like cooking this Easter, no judgement here! There are great local alternatives to eat the typical Easter food you love without cooking it yourself. The added bonus to this is, that you can support local restaurants and business’ while doing so.
If you do not have any plastic eggs hanging around and are unable to order some, no worries! There are other ways to hunt your Easter eggs this year.
If you live in a neighborhood, send out an email asking if everyone can decorate a large paper egg and stick it in a window that faces the street/sidewalk. This way you can get out with your family and safely hunt eggs while saying hello to fellow neighbors (6 feet apart).
If you don’t live in a neighborhood and still want to enjoy an egg hunt, we’ve got you covered. Decorate paper eggs and hide them throughout your house/apartment. If you want to be extra creative, write on the back little exercises or activities to do once that egg has been found.
Although this Easter will be different from those in the past. We hope that everyone has a fun, safe and healthy Easter!
